Presentation Skills

This seminar helps executives and middle managers as wells as sales, training, and technical professionals improve the structure, style, and delivery of formal and informal presentations. All participants deliver a presentation, get feedback, and revise their presentation based on classroom critiques. Exercises help participants conquer their particular problems in both content and delivery.

Objectives:

  • Learn techniques for setting up the room as well as for choosing and preparing visual aids such as flip charts, transparencies, slides, and handout materials Organize effective letters, memos, reports, and meeting minutes.

  • Learn and practice ways of organizing informative and persuasive presentations

  • Understand how to analyze an audience and how to emphasize benefits over features

  • Know and practice a variety of ways of opening and closing a presentation

  • Understand the roots of stage fright and how to overcome it

  • Gain feedback on delivery, articulation, voice, volume, eye contact, poise, and body language

  • Learn how to handle objections and questions from the audience

Methodology: A workshop format that encourages participants to confront their fears about presentations and master their individual problems. All exercises are targeted to particular presentation issues as they arise during the seminar. All participants are required to come prepared with a 10-minute version of the type of presentation they deliver most frequently.
